Silver Medals, 2019 and 2020, International Qvevri Wine Competition Tbilisi
This 8 year old vintage of MK Aieti is smooth and aromatic with enticing expressions of citrus, pear, dry apricot, a hint of white chocolate and long finish. Nuanced individuality of Rkatsiteli grapes and Qvevri fermentation gives the wine beautiful amber color, distinct minerality and medium body.
The wine is fermented and aged with skin-contact in Qvevri clay vessels for at least 6 months. Qvevris are buried in the ground. This ancient technique of maceration at a constant underground temperature produces smooth flavor balance between tannins, antioxidants, polyphenols and acidity in wine. We keep intervention to the minimum. This wine has a great aging potential.
Discover “Rkatsiteli”, this uniquely delicious white grape varietal fermented in Qvevri with skin-contact style, with fruitiness of white wine but with an intensity of red wine. These wines are also called “orange” or “amber” wines because of their color profile. Indulge your curiosity for tastes, smoothness, transcendent aromas, history and ancient wine culture.
The wine is crafted by master winemaker, Michael Kumsiashvili, the winner of multiple wine awards. This exceptional wine is from the country of Georgia, where scientists found earliest evidence that wine was made there 8,000 years ago.
